1) What kind of racecourse is Epsom Downs?
Located on the outskirts of London, UK, it is one of the most famous racecourses in the world. Its most distinctive feature is its U-shaped course with a severe elevation change of about 40 meters. Horses must navigate the sharp “Tattenham Corner” while running downhill, and then face a home straight that slopes upwards towards the finish line. It is a very demanding course that tests a horse’s overall strength and sense of balance.

A middle-to-long distance GⅠ race for older horses (4-year-olds and up), held on the same stage as the Derby and Oaks. Horses that have battled through the classics challenge the conquest of this difficult course once again in their matured forms.

Due to its intense elevation changes, Epsom Downs is one of the most difficult courses in the game for stamina management. Keep the following points in mind when playing!

⛰️ Steep Uphill Right After the Start
Immediately after the start, a steep uphill climb continues for nearly 1000m. Forcing the pace early on will severely affect your stamina later, so it is recommended to stay calm and secure your position first.
🎢 Managing Stamina on the Long Downhill
From the latter half of the final corner to the home straight, the course turns into a long downhill slope. While it is easy to pick up speed, reaching top speed too early here will drain your stamina in a flash. You need exquisite control—avoiding excessive speed—so you can make your move when it really counts in the straight.
⚠️ The Final Trial Just Before the Finish!
Just when you think you’ve survived the long downhill and it’s time to sprint… another uphill slope awaits in the final 100m. Whether you can save enough stamina to climb this last hill is the ultimate key to victory!
